Do you want to be a Network Designer of one of the largest Networks in the UK? This position based in High Wycombe, Bucks requires a key contributor to the IP Design Team, the individual will have proven technical* business skills and will have a major contribution to requirements capture, provision of technical design solutions, implementation co-ordination, on-going 4th line support. Minimum 3 years IP network design and support experience is required.
Applicants must be very familiar with: IP networking, RIPv2, OSPF,BGP, IP routing and switching, IP addressing on multiple site*size basis, NAT, QoS mechanisms, SNMP, load balancing, Firewalls, VoIP, BGP A Knowledge of Cisco 3500, 4500, 6500, 7200, 3700, Content Services Switch (CSS) load balancers. Writing deployment strategies and plans. Desirable skills Unix and Windows. Virus and vulnerability management. Familiarity with an ISP and*or major Telco environment. CCNP * CCND or CCIE qualified Personal skills required Communicate effectively and persuasively, and must be able to work flexibly and to demanding timescales. Keen to investigate solutions to problems and follow through to satisfactory conclusion.
Responsibilities Capture requirements and provide technical solutions whilst ensuring scalability and redundancy are maintained. Management of detailed configuration information including IP address allocation, routing protocol definition, infrastructure device build and costing, and multiple site location issues. Contribute to development of operational and design policies and processes. Provide input in to strategy process for platform and environment development. Understanding of financial and business impacts of proposals and actions. Key contributor in providing technical design documentation outlining agreed solutions, test environments, structured test plans and handover to Operations. Interact with other departments, equipment vendors, and 3rd Parties to ensure the timely delivery and integration of solutions and equipment. Effectively manages the delivery of designated assignments*projects Provide recommendations for increasing stability and availability within current environment.
